March 3 to April 30: Photographer Jonathan Sharlin’s: Portrait Narratives: A Photographic Installation of RI Holocaust Survivors: Walk among larger-than-life photo-portraits and word-panels of Rhode Island Holocaust survivors. 

  • Location: The Blackstone Valley Visitor’s Center’s Art Gallery, 175 Main St., Pawtucket

Sunday March 5th at 2 pm: Artist’s Talk and a Reception for Portrait Narratives: A Photographic Installation of RI Holocaust Survivors: Photographer Jonathan’s Sharlin will speak about Portrait Narratives

  • Location: The Blackstone Valley Visitor’s Center’s Art Gallery, 175 Main St., Pawtucket.

April 19th at 7 pm: Symposium on Art as Memory Keeper: A stimulating forum about how artists engage with their cultural histories. Dr. Deborah Johnson, Providence College and Cantor at Temple Sinai, Dr. Annu Palakunnathu Matthew, URI, and artist Jonathan Sharlin. 

  • Location: The Blackstone Valley Visitor’s Center’s Auditorium, 175 Main St., Pawtucket 

March 14th to April 2nd: Alexandra Broches’ Letters and Pictures from a Box: An exhibition of hauntingly beautiful digital collages: Glimpses into one family’s Holocaust narrative. 

  • Location: Bohnen Vestry, Temple Emanu-El, 99 Taft Ave., Providence, RI 02906.  

Thursday March 23rd at 6:30 pm: Artist’s Talk and a Reception for Letters in a Box:  

Photographer Alexandra Broches on her artistic transformations of letters, photographs and documents written by members of her Dutch Jewish family during World War II.
