Social Action

The Temple reaches out to help people in our community through the Social Action Committee. The Committee is particularly focused on issues of housing and homelessness in Rhode Island. 

Projects Include:

• Advocacy for affordable housing and to end homelessness in Rhode Island
• Habitat for Humanity construction
• Winter clothing drive
• Max Dwares Lunch Brunch – making sandwiches for homeless people in Rhode Island on Sundays in May
• Fall and Spring Blood Drives 
• Sponsorship of a student through Rhode Islanders Sponsoring Education (RISE)
• Environmental awareness and action in the synagogue and at home. To read about ways in which you can help sustain our environment please click here.
